Home Sweet Home - Finally!

It's been a while since our last update, so here's one that is pretty long overdue!

We've finally moved in to our own place last 2 weekends, on Sunday,
15th March 2009. In fact, it's taken almost 5 years for this house to be ready and we finally can say that we now have our own place to live!

Our little living room, furnished as simple as possible!

For the past few months we've been furnishing it to make it our own little cosy pad. Now, we're proud to say that it's almost ready and just nice to fit in the 3 of us. But, the process was pretty long!

Our house in D'Rimba, Kota Damansara was supposed to be completed late 2007, but due to delays and a lot of dilly-dally and incompetence from the developer, it was only completed early 2008.
(warning note: please don't ever buy from Jerneh-Matang PGMS again!)

The house were full of defects and Ed had to go though the whole process of complaints, getting the defects to be rectified and do the necessary renovation and furnishing. Thanks to everyone, from families and close friends, we managed to pull it through. Syukur!

Nia painting the room with E'ah's help in 2008!

The paint job continues.. Paints bought from Kansai Paints. Thanks Kak Ude!

Wood flooring by FloorDepot late December 2008!

Officiating the kitchen cabinets by frying karipap.
Cabinets & appliances by Rowenta Kitchen..

We're still waiting for some stuff to be installed such as our wardrobe and study table, but all in all, it was a fullfiling experience. Moving in is one thing, maintaining the house is also another challenge all in itself.

We hope our refinance issue would soon be completed as well.

Hence, on Sunday, 15th March, we had a small gathering of families from both sides over for hi-tea to celebrate the moving in! It was a pot-luck event and Alhamdulillah, we're pleased that we had plenty of choices that day! We were honoured to have such a great turnout that day and we really thank everyone for coming to our little place.

Before we enjoyed the feast, Papa led us to a short prayer to thank Him for this new place we now call home and for all the rezeki He had bestowed upon us and our family. From starters to deserts, even little Nadyne had her tummy filled of variety of food. By the end of the day, we were glad that there were not much of leftovers and even if there were, they were just enough for us to have it for breakfast the next morning.

Look at the house being filled with families & friends plus FOOD!

The next day however, Nadyne was unfortunate to have caught the flu. Thankfully, Nia was on leave so she stayed home to take care of little Nadyne. She also extended her leave for another day and had to go on Medical Leave on Wednesday after she, herself had caught the virus from little Nadyne.

So, our first few days at our new place were spent with the Influenza virus. We have yet to take little Nadyne swimming at the pool since she's been sick and furthermore, it's been raining for the past couple of weeks now.

We are planning to have Nadyne's 1st birthday bash at the pool house soon. It'll be our first major event at our own place, sort of a 'house warming' for us and everyone will be invited. Will update on that soon.

..::New Year 'Hang Over' & SAVE PALESTINE today plea::..

It's only the 2nd week of the New Year or the 11th day and I'm already suffering!
Well, the past week, I've been down with sore throat, dry cough, fever and massive shoulder ache.

This results in me being away from the office for 2 days last week, which is not the best way to start the New Year! The aching and coughing actually starts since we went to our family trip to SummerSet, Kuala Rompin during the long Christmas holiday weekend. (Read all about it on my daughter's blog!)

But I never went to see the GP, just the occasional Salonpas on the shoulders and Strepsils for the cough.

Unfortunately, that didn't really work out and finally my body caved in and gave way to all the viruses!
Despite my mind being active and raring to go, my body just won't let me...
I guess it might still be the NY 'hang-over'.. (yeah, rite!)

All in all, we had one of the most memorable New Year celebration. We had dinner at theEmpress, theCurve and watched the fireworks from our window at D'Rimba.
We as in me, Nia, Nadyne, Alma, Zul, Aimar, Acat, E'ah & Asna. (check out their video resolutions this year below!)

I just hope I will recover soon and start making waves on some of the projects that I have on my plate at the moment.

But, I feel my sufferings physically is EXTREMELY TINY compared to the sufferings that our Muslim brothers and sisters in Palestine are suffering at the moment. Well, it's not just Muslims, basically a lot of innocent people in Gaza are suffering, and the fatality and injury rates are piling by the minute!

The Awal Muharram attacks i.e. airstrikes from the Zionist regime of Israel which was apparrently strategically planned 18 months before by putting all these massive barrier walls (like you saw on Berlin before, but even higher and soo massive!), basically cutting supplies going into Gaza to the people of Palestine. They Israeli soldiers evacuate the Jews from their Gaza homes and then planned their so called 'counter-attack' on the Hamas.

Of course, you can just read and watch the news to see the cruelty and inhumane actions of the Zionist, and as usual, the US, the so-called police of the world condone and support these bloody attacks.

So, what can we do to help? These wars between Palestinians and Israelis have been going on for more than 60 years and what do us, ordinary people can do? Actually, there's so much that we CAN DO to help.

In Malaysia alone, there are many NGOs collecting donation for the victims of the attack. You can just browse through some of the popular news site, and there will pop up. Just one example is below:

So, here are the steps that people like you and I can do to help:

  1. Donate your money - as little or as much as you can..
  2. Sign petitions online - urging the world powers, especially the US to STOP THESE VIOLENCE in Gaza and take action against these war-mongers.
  3. Attend talks or all the gatherings to gain awareness of the problem & show your support to Palestine
  4. BOYCOTT US/Israel affiliated products. (click on the logo below for the full listings) - yes, it may be hard for some since we've been using some of their products for sooo long, but every little action does help!
Then, if all the 4 items above is too hard for you, the last but certainly NOT LEAST effort is for us to PRAY!
Really pray hard and sincerely for the safebeing of our brothers and sisters there. Pray that the sufferings will end and that ALLAH will show His Mighty Powers to crush the evil enemies, if not here, definitely in the HereAfter. InsyaAllah..

And to the martyrs, Al-Fatihah...
Wallahualam.

..::7 months on::..

Salam guys & gals,

Welcome back.. It's been a while since our last post, and quite a lot has happened since then. As for us, we've just celebrated the Chinese New Year weekend (long one, but still not enough!) and more importantly, our
7th Months Anniversary!!

We had a sort of a 'thanksgiving' ceremony or 'kenduri kesyukuran' to mark Nia's going-into-the-3rd-trimester stage of pregnancy in Nia's mama's hometown, Rembau, Negeri Sembilan, on Thursday, the 7th of February (Chinese New Year). In malay custom, they called it 'melenggang perut' la, where supposedly in the old ages, people will touch the mummy's tummy & do some weird ritualsla..! hahaha.. Thank God, Nia is adamant and fierce that nobody can touch her tummy except for special few (i.e. the handsome Dada!)

Well, here we share some of the photos! As you can see the 'Dada-to-be' still in pyjamas, working hard in making the house ready for the ceremony and some of the guests who turned up on that day.

Will update more soon!
