..remembering my spiritual journey..
Salamz to all,
This month is actually the blessed month of Zul-Hijjah in the Islamic calendar, which also means it's the month of Eidul-Adha or as Malaysians, we called it Hari Raya Haji or Hari Raya Korban.
Why do we call it that? Because it's during this month, about 3 millions or so Muslims around the world will go to Mekah and perform the 5th Rukun Islam, which is to perform the Hajj, or pilgrimage. It's also during this month that we do the ibadah korban, meaning the slaughter of lamb or cows (or in Arab world, camels!!) in remembrance of the prophet Ibrahim's (A.S) pure obedience to Allah SWT to sacrifice his own son, Ismail (A.S).
A lot of stories of sacrifice and struggle during this blessed month of Eid-ul Adha that reminds me back to when I did my own spiritual journey of Hajj back in Dec 2006 till Feb 2007 for 43 days. It was only about 1.5 years ago and it's still quite fresh in my mind..
It was probably the best journey that I've made and I am forever grateful for the experience and the opportunity of a lifetime... Alhamdulillah. InsyaAllah, if given the chance I'd like to go back there for my 2nd Hajj or Umrah and bring along Nia & Nadyne.. Let's hope that time will come sooner rather than later..
So, here I am leaving some piece of my experience in a form of a Picasa Web Album.
Will share more stories later on in life of this spiritual journey..
Selamat Hari Raya Korban, Have a blessed Eidul Adha & May Allah bless us all..
Wallhualam.
