A great 2009, wishing for a GREATER 2010!

In a few hours, the year 2009 will come to a close and the world will embrace another new year.
As always, during this time, I will take stock and reflect on the year that was and celebrate all the wins from 2009.

For starters, blogging wise, this year, i.e. 2009 has been less than productive. In my mind, there are a lot of things I want to say & write in all the blogs that I've set-up, yet it never materialized the way I pictured it. Call it laziness or just lack of time, those are just excuses and justification that I make to myself.

Yet, in retrospect, I would have placed 2009 as one of the best learning & personal growth experience that I had in my life, and here, I will try my best to share this with everyone on this simple blog entry.

How do I do this? By answering these 5 elementary questions;

1. What was your biggest triumph in 2009?
This question is a tough one as I have quite a few. So, let me just list them down here as the biggest in no particular order;
2. What was the smartest decision you made in 2009?
To invest in myself and join the top 2% of the world population by joining the many Money & You graduates of the world. I sincerely believe that it was one of the best decision that I made ever to grow myself and I have experienced such great love, and got tremendous clarity & distinctions towards what I want to achieve with my life. The transformational journey has only just begun and I commit myself to applying all the principles of Money & You and Creating Wealth everyday! It was definitely PRECESSION at work. In fact, just by being in Money & You, my friends list on Facebook has grown to the 1000s!! :)

3. What one word best sums up and describes your 2009 experience?
TRANSFORMATIONAL!

4. What was the greatest lesson you learned in 2009?
To be truly successful in life, I need to take FULL RESPONSIBILITY.
FULL STOP
. No more blaming, no more excuses, no more justification.

5. What was the most loving service you performed in 2009?
This is another tough one. Got a few as well. For my small family, Nia & Nadyne, I'm sponsoring 2 return tickets to the UK for them and we will all embark on a 9 days Easter family trip to the UK in April next year. WooooHoooo! Can't wait! And my wish to be able to celebrate Nadyne's 1st birthday at our own home was fulfilled in April this year too!

For the beloved pjfamily, I've shared whatever that I learned and got from Money & You and I'm proud to have both my elder sister (Kaklong) & brother (Acat) has joined the M&Y family! We had a fun family day outing just recently and it was a BLAST!

For the community, I've committed my time & effort as best as possible to participate fully and contribute my ideas and actions into the betterment of D'Rimba and grow within the M&Y circle.

For my work, I've sincerely act with integrity and believe have contributed to the growth of BFM89.9 and now will embark on another start-up journey with Leaderonomics and bring it to greater heights!

So, there you go!

Here's wishing everyone a great end to 2009 and GREATER START to 2010!!

July - my 30th birthday, our 2nd anniversary & tribute to a legend..

It's been a while since my (or our) last post and a lot has been going on...

As I'm writing this, the world literally is mourning the passing of a true music legend, Michael Jackson, who was found dead on the 25th June 2009.
It was a total shocked and until today, I guess it still hasn't really sunk in yet.

Yes, this blog post is a bit late but I guess we're just doing our small part to pay tribute to the legend himself, who throughout his entire life, shared with us his genius ability to impart the message of love and humanity through his music.

Nia & I practically grew up to his music, danced to his moves on all the classic MTV videomusics and inspired by all his timeless songs.
Rest in Peace, Michael Jackson...

As it turns out, MJ's memorial was done today, on the same day as our 2nd year wedding anniversary.
How time really flies and we've gone through some ups and downs during those 2 years, as all other married couples do, I guess.
We're still learning about each other everyday and enjoying raising our lil bundle of joy, the ever full of life and hope, Nadyne!

We thank everyone, especially our family members who've been there for us through those 2 years, loving and supporting us all the way.
We pray that we'll continue loving each other and hope that one day, we'll also witness our own daugther's wedding one day. InsyaAllah..

July will always be a special month for us and this year, a bit more special to me because I just turned 30, 5 days ago..
We had a simple celebration and I totally enjoyed reaching this milestones. I wanted to write like a long post about my 30th birthday but we're all a bit engrossed with Michael Jackson's death that this will do for now.

Well, this is actually this blog's 30th post too! (a bit ashamed tho coz Nadyne's been writing more than me!!)

Anyway, as this month is all about celebrating life, if you're reading this, then go ahead and click on the banner below & get some goodies for yourself!

Dear MJ,
Thank You for the MUSIC and for all the LOVE you gave us..

Home Sweet Home - Finally!

It's been a while since our last update, so here's one that is pretty long overdue!

We've finally moved in to our own place last 2 weekends, on Sunday,
15th March 2009. In fact, it's taken almost 5 years for this house to be ready and we finally can say that we now have our own place to live!

Our little living room, furnished as simple as possible!

For the past few months we've been furnishing it to make it our own little cosy pad. Now, we're proud to say that it's almost ready and just nice to fit in the 3 of us. But, the process was pretty long!

Our house in D'Rimba, Kota Damansara was supposed to be completed late 2007, but due to delays and a lot of dilly-dally and incompetence from the developer, it was only completed early 2008.
(warning note: please don't ever buy from Jerneh-Matang PGMS again!)

The house were full of defects and Ed had to go though the whole process of complaints, getting the defects to be rectified and do the necessary renovation and furnishing. Thanks to everyone, from families and close friends, we managed to pull it through. Syukur!

Nia painting the room with E'ah's help in 2008!

The paint job continues.. Paints bought from Kansai Paints. Thanks Kak Ude!

Wood flooring by FloorDepot late December 2008!

Officiating the kitchen cabinets by frying karipap.
Cabinets & appliances by Rowenta Kitchen..

We're still waiting for some stuff to be installed such as our wardrobe and study table, but all in all, it was a fullfiling experience. Moving in is one thing, maintaining the house is also another challenge all in itself.

We hope our refinance issue would soon be completed as well.

Hence, on Sunday, 15th March, we had a small gathering of families from both sides over for hi-tea to celebrate the moving in! It was a pot-luck event and Alhamdulillah, we're pleased that we had plenty of choices that day! We were honoured to have such a great turnout that day and we really thank everyone for coming to our little place.

Before we enjoyed the feast, Papa led us to a short prayer to thank Him for this new place we now call home and for all the rezeki He had bestowed upon us and our family. From starters to deserts, even little Nadyne had her tummy filled of variety of food. By the end of the day, we were glad that there were not much of leftovers and even if there were, they were just enough for us to have it for breakfast the next morning.

Look at the house being filled with families & friends plus FOOD!

The next day however, Nadyne was unfortunate to have caught the flu. Thankfully, Nia was on leave so she stayed home to take care of little Nadyne. She also extended her leave for another day and had to go on Medical Leave on Wednesday after she, herself had caught the virus from little Nadyne.

So, our first few days at our new place were spent with the Influenza virus. We have yet to take little Nadyne swimming at the pool since she's been sick and furthermore, it's been raining for the past couple of weeks now.

We are planning to have Nadyne's 1st birthday bash at the pool house soon. It'll be our first major event at our own place, sort of a 'house warming' for us and everyone will be invited. Will update on that soon.

The full pictures from the Tahlil housewarming can be found here.
